Whilst Kate was involved in some other exciting projects, I busied myself with building some “Clock Gong Boxes” (as you do).
Version One used aold cutlery box I have been using as a general sound box (it has 3 contact mics inside so anything placed on the box gets amplified, previously used for xylophones etc)
This I found quite awkward to play so I returned to eBay and found a wooden pool cue box that was better suited to the job, fitted it out with contact mics $ Version Two was born!
Initial Testing
While I was at it, I attached a westminster chime & clock gong to a kettle I had hanging about for a waterharp type instrument…
