APL Theatre is teaming up with Essex based At Swefn’s Edge to bring together an array of regional-based talent for our NEW online digital series VOICE BOX – Intimate Theatre: Direct to the Lens.

The exciting series will spotlight original performances of the best Essex based talent across five consecutive evenings beginning on Monday 9 November at 7pm. The producers plan to create nightly episodes spanning 25 -30 minutes and present them online.

Applications are welcome from everyone, regardless of age, gender identity/expression, ethnicity or experience.

Content should be ‘ready to use’ and of high-quality video and audio. The producers may wish to invite you to re-record your content in a Covid-19 responsive black box studio setting in Witham, Essex. The producers will supply the recording equipment, sound mixing, lighting, and a studio technician for the session.

Successful applicants will be paid £50.00 for their content contribution and receive full accreditation.

The deadline for submissions is midnight on Monday 28 September. The producers retain the right to decide on the content included in the festival and will inform successful applicants by 6pm on Friday 2 October.

Essential criteria:
• All content must interpret the theme ‘ON THE EDGE”
• Be suitable for a family audience.
• Be an original work or free from copyright.
• Maximum length of 10 minutes
• Recorded in landscape
• Include a bio and short paragraph explaining the reasons for applying
• If you are submitting a script this should be accompanied by your thoughts on how it can be presented in a digital format taking the other essential elements into consideration.
