Following delay after delay we are over the moon to announce a date for Martin’s memorial gathering.
On listening to his friends and colleagues’ probable availability we have settled on Sunday 15th August at noon and really hope you can all come.
As promised we will meet under the oaks in Epping Forest to recount tales, share our fondness, laugh heartily and maybe release a tear or two as we raise a cup in Martin’s memory. We won’t be too far from J26 of the M25 for easy access and if travelling by train we will try and organise lifts from the nearest station. Please feel free to bring words, readings, poems, a song, drums or percussion if you would like to as we will weave all this together in celebration. Please also bring along your own cup and plate for Covid safety and perhaps a small rug to sit on or a camping chair if you prefer not to sit on the ground.
As you know we have some beautiful personal items of Martin’s which we have kept safe to share with you on this special day as you may wish to take something home with you as an additional focus of memory. There will be a little pot for contributions towards Battersea Cats & Dogs Home should you wish to donate and all funds raised will add to the £813.06 already given to Martin’s charities through your generosity last year. Big thank you again.
We would be grateful if you could let us know if you can come by contacting either:
Kate Millner via Messenger or text/call on 07786 014511
We will be sending out exact location details privately nearer the time so please be sure to include the contact details you’d like us to use!
If alas you can’t make the date please do, if you can, join with us in spirit at the time so we may celebrate Martin’s life and all that he shared so fully with us as one.
